Restore Stephen Baldwin

Taking a serious interest in Steven Baldwin, tonight’s ending to South Park was a reference to help ‘towels everywhere. Which lead to this very interesting website that perhaps is one of the strangest ever: http://www.restorestephenbaldwin.org/
A website dedicated to the Hollywood actor Stephen Baldwin. Not a fan site mind you but an actual donation site set up to help pay the bills of the celebrity. According to the site once the actor took to God a few years back, he was shunned by Hollywood and has ended up broke.
Is this true? There is no ‘official’ word from the celebrity about this, but the site is run by an individual who says it is so. Thousands of people jammed this site last night as the very ending of the South Park references it.
In the end, the towel gets the rehab and lives happily ever after (no we aren’t talking Baldwin here, we are talking the blue towel on South Park.) Luckily the washcloth gets his family back too. As for Baldwin, he got slapped in the face…yep with a towel.

Who Got Kicked Off American Idol

The American Idol results show was a Shania Twain - less affair, the Top 6 contestants awaiting their fate while listening tolive performances by Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, Sons of Sylvia, and Shakira with Rascal Flatts. American Idol host Ryan Seacrest got all the contestants out on the stage about ten minutes into the program and named the Bottom Three: Siobhan Magnus, Michael Lynche, and Casey James. After Siobhan’s rushed and clumsy, flat-note hitting, let’s-end-the-song-with-an-Adam-Lambert-scream-that-worked-only-once-before rendition of Shania Twain’s “Any Man Of Mine,” she deserved to be there. But both Casey James and Michael Lynche did not. Perhaps one of them, but Lee Dewyze deserved to be there because of his boring version of “You’re Still The One.” Still, that’s the way the results played out. Ryan Seacrest then sent Michael Lynche to the Sofa of Safety, he was left with Siobhan Magnus and Casey James. After watching America keep the mop-topped smiler, “Teflon” Tim Urban, on the show for so long, who got kicked off American Idol Wednesday evening (April 28)? It was a shock to hear Ryan Seacrest utter the name of Siobhan Magnus as the person going home. Thankfully, Siobhan spared America from a repeat of that “fun” Shania Twain song she performed Tuesday evening and chose Aretha Franklin’s “Think (Freedom).” It was that song that helped the girl from Boston stay on the show for so long (it’s where she hit ‘the note’) — because she really can sing. Watch Siobhan Magnus perform “Think (Freedom)” on American Idol as part of the Top 20.

Siobhan Magnus

(CBS)
From the 33 million registered votes on Tuesday night, Siobhan Magnus received the smallest share from the viewers and was sent home on Wednesday night’s elimination episode of “American Idol.”
The quirky 20-year-old from Cape Cod, Massachusetts had a habit for belting high notes at the end of all her performances. At first, it wowed the judges, but they soon became less enthused after seeing the same type of execution week after week.
On Tuesday night’s episode, Judge Simon Cowell said Magnus sounded like she was giving birth during her rendition of Shania Twain’s “Any Man of Mine.”
Season 9 ContestantsThe “Idol” Finale
The results portion of the show began with host Ryan Seacrest divvying up the contestants into three groups of two. The first pair announced was Magnus and Lee Dewyze, then Casey James with Michael “Big Mike” Lynche, followed by Aaron Kelly and Crystal Bowersox.
Going straight to it, Seacrest escorted Magnus across the stage to stand next to James and Lynche, pronouncing them as the bottom three.
Lynche was the first one relieved, but had no shame of being back in the bottom three. “Tonight is different because everyone did well last night,” he said.
Once James’ name was called and he was declared safe, Magnus managed to keep her head up high and had a smile on her face. She left with style and performed Aretha Franklin’s “Think.” Naturally she ended the performance with her signature ear-piercing scream.
The Rascall Flatts helped continue with this week’s country theme and opened up the show with their performance of “Unstoppable.” They made their way back on the stage later on the show for a peculiar duet with Latin pop singer Shakira. Later on, Lady Antebellum sang their chart topping hit “Need You Now.”
Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas made brief appearances in the beginning to help promote their upcoming movie “Shrek Forever After,” which Ryan Seacrest has a brief cameo in.
“Idol” alum Carrie Underwood also paid a visit to her old stomping grounds to introduce her tour mates Sons of Sylvia, who performed “Love Left to Lose.”
There is only one female finalist left and the pressure is on full force for Crystal Bowersox to pull through. With only five contestants remaining, the competition is starting to get extra tight.
We’ll find out next week who will be capable of reigning supreme when Harry Connick Jr mentors the remaining five as they pick songs from the great Frank Sinatra.

New Music: Drake – Find Your Love

“I better find your loving…I better find your heart,” Drake tweeted early this morning (April 29), and just minutes later the second single from his highly-anticipated album, Thank Me Later, was unleashed to the internet where fans quickly rushed to get a listen.
“Find Your Love,” produced by hip-hop genius Kanye West, finds rap’s most valuable rookie slipping into R&B mode and getting his Trey Songz on as he sings about cautiously giving himself to a special lady and hoping she returns the favor.
The mechanical beats, thumping drums, and “hey hey hey” refrains will almost immediately call to mind West’s Grammy-snubbed masterpiece 808’s and Heartbreak, but don’t be so quick to write “Find Your Love” off as a copycat or reject. Drizzy offers up enough to make you forgive the similarities and enjoy “Find Your Love” for its own impressive merits.
Thank Me Later is in stores June 15th.

Arizona Immigration Law sb1070 Now Signed

The Arizona sb1070 has finally been signed into a law and is now in action in Arizona. According to the law no immigrant would be allowed to wander around in the Arizona State without his/her documents and police reserves the right to investigate and question anyone they find suspicious.
According to the governor of Arizona this law has been signed because the drug wars in Mexico were becoming a big problem because the Mexican disputes were advancing very close to the Arizona border. Due to this there were many Mexicans and people from other races who were crossing the border illegally and hiding in Arizona.
A lot of other states are not happy about the signing of the law and are forcefully opposing this law because it violates the rights of the immigrants. According to democrats and liberals this law creates racism and that is not something that the United States promotes. Even President Obama is against this law and expresses his opposition by saying that the state was misguided and is now being unfair to the immigrants.
The rest of the states have started boycotting Arizona as an act of protest, though the seriousness of the boycott is still to be known. There have been many calls to boycott Arizona and it seems if the law is not revoked things may look pretty bad for Arizona.
Even the Attorney General is against the law and expects a legislative action against the immigration law within 90 days. Many celebrities have also raised voice against this law. Those celebrities include Jenifer Lopez.

Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, better known throughout the world as Shakira was born on 2nd February, 1977 in Barranquilla, Columbia. She grew up in Columbia. Since her childhood she has been an extremely talented singer and dancer. She performed in numerous school talent shows and events. Her singing styles include Rock n Roll, Arabic style and Latin. She also created her own version of the Arabic dance that she demonstrated in talent shows.
Shakira is profoundly unique in all her musical assets because of a race cocktail in her family. Due to the fact that her parents were from very different cultural backgrounds she reflects a heavy fusion of cultures in her music. Anyone who has listened to Shakira’s music would bluntly observe the mix of Middle Eastern and Latin vocal, musical and dance styles. This combination in other circumstances may not have proven to be of much interest, but Shakira has merged these two styles so perfectly that music lovers all over the world love it.
In 1990 she emerged as a musical prodigy in Latin America. After two unsuccessful Albums with local Columbian producers, Shakira decided to create her own mix of music. She made a Spanish album in 1995 by the name of Pies Descalzos that made her a favorite in Spain and Latin America. After that Shakira has been a praised musical celebrity in the US giving successful albums like Oral Fixation and her latest in 2009 by the name of “She Wolf”.

Capitals Look Inward After Collapse

WASHINGTON —- Change may be coming to Washington, again.
The Capitals completed a historic collapse, losing to the Montreal Canadiens, 2-1, in Game 7 of the first-round series at Verizon Center on Wednesday night. Never before has a No. 1 seed lost to a No. 8 when leading the series 3-1, although the Caps join the 2008-09 San Jose Sharks as one of six teams since 1968 to lose in the first round after attaining the league’s top record.
“Maybe we didn’t work hard enough,” said Washington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom. “We have to look at that. We were first overall in the regular season and we can’t even score a goal on the power play against Montreal? That’s really bad. … If you can’t beat an eighth seed, maybe we have to figure that out.”
The pratfalls for the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Capitals were many this postseason including:
• going 1-for-34 on the power play, capped by a failure to score over the final 1:44 of regulation in Game 7;
• getting zero goals from Alexander Semin, who had 40 in the regular season, despite putting a league-leading 44 on net;
• a failure to score at least two goals in back-to-back home games for the first time all season;
• the inability of Mike Green, a finalist for the Norris Trophy who led the league as the top-scoring defenseman, to get a goal.
“I thought we had a good shot to win the Stanley Cup this year,” said Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau, who fell to 1-3 in Game 7s since becoming the coach during the 2007-08 season. “I would have bet my house that they wouldn’t have beaten us three games in a row. … We all feel as low as we can possibly feel.”
Boudreau and the players who emerged to talk to reporters all tipped their hat to Canadiens goalie Jaroslav Halak, who allowed three goals on 134 shots through the final three games of the series. But Backstrom only gave Halak half-credit, the rest going to his team’s inability to grind out goals in front of Halak or capitalize on their many scoring chances.
“He was great and he made some great saves,” Backstrom said. “I think we weren’t ready to go in front of the net and create traffic like we used to. That’s something we’ve been working on the whole season. We have been scoring a lot of goals and we can’t even score in the playoffs.”
“I would have bet my house that they wouldn’t have beaten us three games in a row. … We all feel as low as we can possibly feel.”– Capitals coachBruce Boudreau Alex Ovechkin, the NHL’s two-time defending MVP, assisted on the Caps’ lone goal of the game scored by Brooks Laich to finish with 10 points in the playoffs. Backstrom had nine points. Most of the rest of the Caps’ stars struggled against a Habs squad that just squeaked into the postseason.
“It really hurts,” Caps forward Eric Fehr said. “We thought we had a really good team and could make a good run. It seems like we had things going [well heading] into the playoffs. We had all the lines contributing. Come playoff time, we just couldn’t get it all going at the same time.”
Green took a cross-checking penalty after he lost the puck to Habs defenseman Andrei Markov late in the first period. Twelve seconds later, Marc-Andre Bergeron scored on the ensuing power play.
“He deserved it,” Boudreau said “It wasn’t a smart play.”
Boudreau didn’t commit to wholesale changes, but he expects some free agents — a list that includes goalie Jose Theodore along with forwards Brendan Morrison and Eric Belanger — may not be back next season. He also didn’t think anything needed to be altered in his style of play, despite falling to advance past the first round for the second time in three seasons.
“It doesn’t validate anything,” Boudreau said. “This is the way we are built. If we had to make all these guys into checkers and play a trap game, I think it would have been a pretty boring team to watch and we wouldn’t have been anywhere near successful as we were.”

International Space Station (ISS) Viewing

The International Space Station (ISS) will also make several light passes tonight, this week, each brighter than Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky. ISS is visible over a much larger path in the sky than the Iridium flares, and thus be visible for a longer period
Make sure you are familiar with the details so you do not stand there wonder why you can not see anything. Common errors include AM and PM confusion, mixing RISE and SET directions and randomly looking for a dimmer satellite instead of the ISS, called the Station.
On the evening of Thursday, January 21, the ISS pass low in N starting at 6:09 p.m. CT. It will turn more to a maximum height of only 16 ° above the horizon in the northeast, and then cross the low Ene over a period of about six minutes. You can estimate 15 degrees altitude in the sky to see the width of your fist held at arm’s length.
Observers have a second chance in the ISS on Friday, January 22. This time, ISS rises above the horizon in the NW around 6:30 CT, swinging high above the heads of about 45 degrees altitude in the northeast, and then drops back to the horizon in ESE, again for a six-minute period.
On Saturday, January 23 ISS makes a new passport from the NW around 6:51 CT to SW, with a maximum height of 40 ° and then back towards the horizon in the SSW about 6:58. Amateurs have reported to see the shuttle docked at the station in small telescopes as it passes over the head lately. But no shuttle mission going on at this point.

HP to buy Palm for $1.2 Billion

Hewlett Packard has officially announced that it will buy Palm Inc. HP will either purchase Palm shares at a price of $5.70 (Rs. 276.30 approx.) per share or enterprise value of $1.2 billion approximately. HP and Palm board of directors have approved this deal and hence, Palm will officially fall under HP's umbrella. Palm had reported poor first quarter earnings despite launching products like Palm Pre, Palm Pixi and brand new WebOS. Hence was looking for potential buyers in market.HP will be buying Palm mostly for the WebOS. HP noted that 'combination of HP's global scale and financial strength with Palm's WebOS platform' to gain aggressive lead in rapidly growing smartphone market. Clearly, HP too wants a piece of smartphone market pie. Both companies will increase in the investment in Research and Development as well as Marketing of WebOS. There's no timeline defined as when exactly WebOS would be deployed on HP products since closing the deal is the first priority. There's no clarity on whether HP would be bringing any more Windows Phone 7 devices or not but WebOS will play an important role in HP's mobile product ecosystem. If the WebOS integration to HP products is fast enough, we may see HP-WebOS phone at Mobile World Congress 2011 next year. There would be several questions that would arise - like will India, amongst other countries, get to see Palm Pre or Palm Pixi. We'll have to wait till the deal closes on July 31.

Well, who doesn't remember going to their local Baskin Robbins ice cream parlor for ice cream when they were a kid? I certainly do. It was right up the street from my house growing up, and I remember my mom or dad taking me at least once a week to go get ice cream as some kind of treat.
Well, tonight you can relive those memories with Baskin Robbins special promotion. Tonight, between 5 an 10pm, you can buy up to three scoops of their ice cream for just 31 cents a scoop. Now that sounds like a deal to me!
The proceeds from this year's scoop night will go to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. A great treat while you are helping out a worthy cause. If you want to find out if Baskin Robbins is in your local area, go here. Will you be going to grab some ice cream tonight at your Baskin Robbins?
