Who Got Kicked Off American Idol

The American Idol results show was a Shania Twain - less affair, the Top 6 contestants awaiting their fate while listening tolive performances by Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, Sons of Sylvia, and Shakira with Rascal Flatts. American Idol host Ryan Seacrest got all the contestants out on the stage about ten minutes into the program and named the Bottom Three: Siobhan Magnus, Michael Lynche, and Casey James. After Siobhan’s rushed and clumsy, flat-note hitting, let’s-end-the-song-with-an-Adam-Lambert-scream-that-worked-only-once-before rendition of Shania Twain’s “Any Man Of Mine,” she deserved to be there. But both Casey James and Michael Lynche did not. Perhaps one of them, but Lee Dewyze deserved to be there because of his boring version of “You’re Still The One.” Still, that’s the way the results played out. Ryan Seacrest then sent Michael Lynche to the Sofa of Safety, he was left with Siobhan Magnus and Casey James. After watching America keep the mop-topped smiler, “Teflon” Tim Urban, on the show for so long, who got kicked off American Idol Wednesday evening (April 28)? It was a shock to hear Ryan Seacrest utter the name of Siobhan Magnus as the person going home. Thankfully, Siobhan spared America from a repeat of that “fun” Shania Twain song she performed Tuesday evening and chose Aretha Franklin’s “Think (Freedom).” It was that song that helped the girl from Boston stay on the show for so long (it’s where she hit ‘the note’) — because she really can sing. Watch Siobhan Magnus perform “Think (Freedom)” on American Idol as part of the Top 20.
