On this past week's episodes of American Idol

On this past week's episodes of American Idol, singer Harry Connick Jr. was on hand to mentor the Top 5 contestants remaining as they took on the songs of Sinatra. On Wednesday night, Connick also took to the stage where he performed and then played piano afterwords as the Idol hopefuls sang a medley of his songs. Connick truly seemed to be enjoying himself on stage as well as when he worked with the Idols, but his Frank Sinatra story included talk of Harry Connick Jr's wife Jill Goodacre.

When Michael Jordan played for the Chicago

When Michael Jordan played for the Chicago Bulls, they had a great run of six world championships. However, during that first championship series against the L.A. Lakers, nothing was certain. In fact, if you know the history of Chicago sports, then you know that the word “choke!” is synonymous with Chicago teams. They could be up by a wide margin but still allow victory to slip away or a playoff series to fade from their grip.

So, as life would have it, instead of being able to watch what could be the title-clinching game, I had a church commitment. You know what I did—I taped the game so that I could watch it later.

ere's a lot to be said

There's a lot to be said about staying on good terms with your ex. It could just save your life.

Such is the case for Bret Michaels, who called his ex Kristi Gibson -- who is also the mother of his two daughters, Raine Elizabeth and Jorja Blue -- to take him to the hospital once he realized that his mind had gone blank, he couldn't move his head at all and that something was seriously wrong.

"I know I was slurring my words, and I was like, 'OK, this isn't a headache. There's something really bad happening,'" Bret tells People in his first interview since his brain hemorrhage, which will be published on Friday (May 7).

The 47-year-old rocker also says that the hemorrhage "sounded like a handgun, like it literally popped."
